A fledgling medical device business with its headquarter to be located in the Silicon Valley area in the United States is looking for a qualified candidate for the following position. The primary location of employment will be in or in the vicinity of Seoul, Korea. Job Title: JUNIOR R&D ENGINEERS and/or INTERNS - Disposable Medical Devices Job Description: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. This individual will create and develop new concepts and innovations for new disposable medical device products focused on addressing unmet business and market needs for the colonoscopy as a primary means for colorectal cancer screening. He/she will define concepts, verify prototypes, optimize design selection, create and execute clinically simulated bench tests, verify and validate designs and transfer new products into production. He/she will also ensure the efficient transfer of products designed for manufacturing throughout the development cycle and eventually into full production /commercialization status. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: To be considered for this position you must have the following qualifications: EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and/or SKILLS: The position requires a Bachelors of Science Degree in Engineering or Science (higher degree a plus) with comprehensive knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, mechanical properties testing, concepts, practices and theories. One to two (1-2) years of industrial experience in design and development of medical devices (or related field) desired but not required. Ability to communicate (oral and written) clearly and effectively before groups and in project documentation in Korean and in English preferred. Self motivated, high energy, positive attitude individual with the initiative and drive for timely completion of goals with minimal supervision. (Polymer or materials engineering experience working with the various materials and plastic processes a plus). Proficient in part design utilizing engineering theory and working with modeling software. Basic knowledge of statistical practices as it relates to sample sizes, confidence intervals, capabilities, assessing risk, and general problem solving. PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: The following are qualifications that we would prefer candidates to have. BS/MS or Ph.D. in Bio-materials/Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical/Chemical Engineering, Science or related discipline. Job Experience: Desired but not required. Positions open until filled.
